5K Run & Walk

Annual 5K runThe 6th annual Opening Doors Run & Walk was held on Saturday April 9 at the Clarke University Kehl Center. It was a beautiful day for a race and fun was had by all individuals, families and teams that attended. Walkers had the option to walk outdoors on the 5K course or enjoy the indoor track facilities, and the runners enjoyed the seasonal weather running around the Clarke University neighborhood.

Thank you to all sponsors, volunteers, and participants who helped to make the event a success and thank you for supporting Opening Doors. We couldn’t continue to benefit homeless women and children without your help!

The individual male champion in the 5K was Chad Leitzen who won in a time of 17:53, and the women’s champion was Dana Weitz who finished in a time of 21:15. Congrats to both of the individual champions!
