7th Annual 5K Run & Walk

GET READY…SET…GO!! 

Run & WalkThe 7th annual Opening Doors Run & Walk will be held on Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Clarke University Kehl Center. Registration begins at 8 AM and the event begins at 9 AM with a shotgun start.  Runners and walkers can enjoy the 5K route around the Clarke neighborhood, or use the indoor track. This event will be held rain or shine!  The Children’s half mile FUN RUN will take place at 8:30 AM, followed by children’s activities in the Kehl Center until 10 AM.  Big Apple Bagels will provide bagels, cream cheese, and coffee.  Peruse our fun vendor booths before the awards ceremony at 10 AM.  Contests with prizes include Most Individual Pledges, Most Team Pledges, and Most Team Members.  Medals will be given out for the top three runners in all age categories.

The individual male champion in the 2011 5K was Chad Leitzen who won in a time of 17:53, and the women’s champion was Dana Weitz who finished in a time of 21:15. Congrats to both of the individual champions!
