Galena Middle School

Galena Middle School heard a PSA for Opening Door's Wish List on WJOD. Students, teachers & families collected so many items that our van was filled to the brim! The staff at Maria House & Teresa Shelter was thrilled! Thank you Galena Middle School and Tom Brenner at WJOD!

Medline

April 4, 2012 – Medline’s “Pay it Forward Day” 2012 was held in conjunction with the company’s celebration of their 12th anniversary. Each employee received a $1.00 bill with the stipulation that they “Pay it Forward” to help someone else. Kelly Jobgen sent out an email to her coworkers saying, “I have decided to use my dollar to help a homeless woman or child have a bed for the night. Anyone that would like to use their dollar to “buy a bed of hope” let me know and I would be happy to take any and all donations to the Maria House.” Kelly ended up raising an incredible $363 for our “A Bed of Hope” program. She delivered a thick envelope stuffed full of cash and checks on April 4. She is pictured here with Opening Doors Executive Director Michelle Brown. This is the first business to adopt our new “A Bed of Hope” program! Thank you Kelly and Medline for your generosity!!

St. Anthony's

March, 2012 – St. Anthony’s donated over 30 activity packets, 15 activity books, along with a big box of crayons and pencils. What a innovative gift to our women and children!

Physicians of Dubuque Internal Medicine, P.C.

January 10, 2012 - Santa made a January delivery to Maria House in an SUV filled with 380 wish list items and $165 in cash. These monies and items were donated by the employees of Dubuque Internal Medicine, P.C. as a holiday gift to the physicians. “So on behalf of the Physicians of Dubuque Internal Medicine, P.C. Merry Christmas and Best wishes in the new year!”
